“Pray that they might have life”

Every year the Respect Life Apostolate from the Archdiocese of St. Louis invites our 8th grade students to submit an essay for their annual creative writing contest. This year over 1,000 essays were submitted from our Day Schools and our Parish School of Religion Programs. Three students from St. Catherine Laboure were among the 99 finalists, Alexandria Bernier, Jeff Burke and Ben Krapu. Portions of Alexandria and Jeff’s essays were printed in the program. Congratulations to Alexandria and Jeff for a job well done.

From the 99 finalist essays, four essays were declared winners and awarded scholarships. We are pleased to announce Ben Krapu was awarded the Mary Forestal Hennessey Scholarship . Ben will receive a $1,000.00 scholarship to St. Louis University in the fall. We congratulate Ben on his excellent essay entitled, “ A Letter to my Child” and wish him well as he continues his religious education at SLUH High School.
