All parishioners should have received our Lenten newsletter which included information regarding the Annual Lenten Kenya Appeal. The theme this year is “Let us love in deed & truth”.
This year the Vincentians need your help for two projects.
The first is a Water Collection Project. Vincentians at Christ the King Seminary grow their own food. This is often difficult because of drought. We will build an underground reserve and pump to water the garden when there is no rain.
The second need is for a delivery truck for DePaul Woodworking. DePaul Woodworking teaches men and women carpentry skills so they can obtain a job and provide for their families, creating systemic change. The truck will be used to carry supplies and delivery furniture.
We are asking that you once again consider the Vincentian Mission in Kenya to be among the many other charities this Lent. An envelope was provided in the newsletter so that you can mail your donation directly to the Vincentian office, 13663 Rider Trail North, Earth City, MO 63045 or you can go online to www.vincentian.org, click on the button DONATE NOW, click on the drop down to Kenya Mission and then in the OTHER section write St. Catherine Laboure.
Thanks to your generosity in the past, our priests have brought the Gospel to many Kenyans through parish missions, assisted the poorest families at our parishes and those who come to our gate, bought a new vehicle to reach rural areas we serve, built a Church for a proper place of worship, and provided clean water to several of our parishes. Please know that all donors supporting our Kenya Mission are remembered at daily Mass by our Vincentians in Kenya, including our 32 seminarians.
