Contact Congress on Tax Reform

December 5, 2017

Dear Friends of Religious and Independent Schools,

No matter where you stand on tax reform, members of a House-Senate conference committee are now attempting to reconcile differences between the House and Senate versions of the tax bill, and a few issues of significance to the private school community are at stake:

Will college savings accounts be expanded to include elementary and secondary education under Section 529 of the tax code?
Will private schools be able to continue to offer tax-free tuition to the children of teachers and other staff under Section 117(d) of the tax code?
Will private schools be able to continue to provide up to $5,250 annually in tax-free educational expenses for employees under Section 127(a) of the tax code?

Please use CAPE's Legislative Action Center now to urge members of Congress to intercede with conference committee members to ensure that the final tax reform bill answers the above questions in the affirmative.

Thank you for your help.
