Let us take a quiet, careful moment or two to remember all who died, all who responded and put their lives at risk. You have gathered the dead to come home to you, watch over the living.
So many are again brought back to the grief of this day, the grief of the loss, the enduring absence of loved ones taken tragically, innocently, and too soon. Hold their ongoing grief in your heart as you remember them and pray for them.
Take a moment to commit yourself once again to follow the way of Jesus Christ so that true real and lasting peace may replace hatred revenge and terror in our world. Become yet more, people of harmony and unity.
Place your reliance in God’s goodness to overcome the madness of violence and destruction, we must be vigilant and careful, we must be hopeful and encouraging the best of one another.
Ask the Lord to continue to offer healing to our world, to every person, to all personally effected by the tragedy and violence of the madness of the actions of September 11, 2001.
